Mirror Forge — Interactive Multi-Axis Mirror

Blender's Mirror modifier is great — until you need an actual separate object. Then you're duplicating, scaling by -1, and inheriting the classic negative-scale mess: inside-out normals, confusing transforms, and rigs and exporters that misbehave downstream. Fixing it manually on every mirrored prop gets old fast.Mirror Forge replaces that whole dance with one interactive operation. Select your objects, run the tool (Ctrl+Shift+M or the N-panel), and a live preview appears: the mirrored duplicates are shown in place, with an animated mirror plane, colored axis arrows, and a heads-up display of every available control. Tap X, Y, or Z to switch the mirror axis. Hold Shift to mirror across the other two axes in a single step. Press TAB to switch between global and local space, P to cycle the pivot between the world origin, the 3D cursor, the active object, or each object's own origin, and I to toggle between real copies and linked instances. Changed your mind three steps ago? Ctrl+Z steps back through your changes without leaving the tool. Click or press Enter to confirm; right-click or Esc cancels cleanly. The part you don't see is the part that matters most: when you confirm, Mirror Forge bakes the reflection into the mesh data itself and rebuilds the object's transform as a clean, proper rotation. The result has no negative scale, its normals face the right way, and clearing its rotation behaves exactly like clearing the source object's rotation. It's the mirrored object you would have built by hand — if you had ten spare minutes per object.Mirror Forge also understands naming conventions. Mirror Arm_L and the duplicate is automatically named Arm_R. It handles L/R, .L/.R, -L/-R, left/right, and L_/R_ prefix styles (case-insensitively, preserving .001-style suffixes), falling back to a _mirror suffix when no convention matches.USE CASE: A character artist mirrors a finished left arm — glove, armor plates, and all — across the body's center line. One invocation, seven objects, correctly named right-side versions with clean normals and transforms, ready to skin.KEY FEATURES:• Live interactive preview — see the mirrored result before you confirm• X / Y / Z single-axis mirroring; Shift+X/Y/Z mirrors across the other two axes at once• Four pivot modes: World Origin, 3D Cursor, Active Object, Individual Origins (per-object)• Global or Local space mirroring (TAB to toggle)• Automatic normal and scale correction — the reflection is baked in, clean transforms, no negative scale, no inside-out shading• Smart renaming: Arm_L → Arm_R (handles L/R, .L/.R, -L/-R, left/right, and prefix conventions)• Linked-instance toggle (I): mirror as independent copies or memory-saving linked duplicates• In-tool undo: Ctrl+Z steps back through your changes without leaving the tool• N-panel presets for one-click common mirrors; default hotkey Ctrl+Shift+MCOMPATIBILITY: Blender 4.0+. Object Mode. No external dependencies.Mirror Forge is free forever. If it saves you time, it's one of six tools in the Game Asset Pipeline Toolkit Pro Bundle — see it at https://theforgefoundry.in.
